Financial Planning

Financial Planning provides direction and meaning to your financial decisions, thereby enabling you to make the best use of your resources. Whether you are in a significant life transition or simply need to improve your investments, we take the time to understand your distinct needs and provide highly personalized advice.

For one-time financial concerns or reviews, we offer hourly, as-needed financial advice.

Advice for individuals frequently includes:
        » Investment checkups
        » Retirement security analysis
        » Education funding strategies
        » Early retirement decisions
        » Inheritance and asset transfers
» Financial security for unmarried couples
        » Asset division during divorce

Advice for businesses and institutions frequently includes:
» Establishing or improving workplace retirement plans
» Asset allocation and investment design
        » Not-for-profit investment consulting

All clients receive detailed, written recommendations and action steps that we review with you. Your cost is based on the complexity of the project and our current hourly rate, but is stated and documented in advance of the relationship.

We do not sell any products, but we do recommend specific solutions. These recommendations may include investment securities, asset allocation levels, types of insurance policies, and other service professionals.

We also provide comprehensive, fee-only financial planning.

Most hourly engagements are completed in less than four weeks, whereas comprehensive financial planning is a more substantial undertaking, both in its cost and the time we spend together. Typically, we work with comprehensive planning clients over a period lasting three to four months.

At each stage of comprehensive planning, we meet with you to provide and discuss your personal financial strategies and next steps. Over time, these strategies cover all relevant issues, including wealth management, insurance considerations, estate planning, and retirement considerations, as well as specialized topics such as stock options and philanthropy.
